Sometimes, you get what you wanted, but not what you asked for.
I always wanted a little girl, but it was not meant to be. Then my friend had a daughter and lucky for me
it’s as though she and her husband had a mini me: their daughter likes slumber parties, cupcakes, princesses and manicures.
It’s amazing!
Lucky for me and mini-me, Mexicans believe little girls are princesses. There are scores and scores of stores in both great and not-so-great neighborhoods that sell nothing but princess attire: crowns, wigs, shoes, hoop dresses. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s classier than pageant attire or a regular costume, but adorable and tasteful too.
There are Disney themed dresses (but better)…
Complete with accessories!
And hoop skirts…

And stores large and small crammed with silk, taffeta, crowns, wings and crinolines!

Every little girl should be lucky enough to grow up believing she is a princess.
For my part, even though I’m not there to spoil my favorite princess everyday, I’m excited to see her next week, and I’m excited to celebrate all of the great things about her that I miss so much. I can’t wait to play dress up, get manicures and eat cupcakes. Some princesses never grow up!

Please tell me these stores have Web sites . . . ?
I spot an obsession about to begin!
